Chopped Clams & Clam Strips

Whole, hand-shucked, fresh sea clam meat is prepared from wholesome Atlantic Surf Clams (Spisula solidissima) and is randomly ground to a .75” cut for use in chowders and cakes. The chopped clam meat consists primarily of the adductor muscles, mantle edge, siphons, retractor muscles, and some tongue meat. It is also cut into strips made entirely of tongue meat. The processed clam meat is chilled in water, packaged, and frozen.

At Nantucket Sound Seafood, we pride ourselves in being able to satisfy even the most specialized orders.  With over 100,000 bushels of product processed each year, we generate more than 1,500,000 pounds of meat, much of which is sold in custom orders for markets in and out of the United States. 

In addition to our regular products, Nantucket Sound Seafood has the ability to change manufacturing procedures on a day by day basis to ensure timely and efficient service to the customer with the highest quality standards in the industry. We follow the FDA HACCP and work closly with all goverment agencies.We comply with with all regulating agencies including NOAA, SAFIS, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
